The state government says the citizens' festival runs from 1 to 3 October 2027, with 3 October 2027 the 37th anniversary of reunification. The motto is Gemeinsam verbunden.
Planned are presentations by the 16 states and the federal government, interactive formats, stage culture, clubs and volunteer groups, plus music and regional food. An ecumenical service, a ceremony and a meeting of the constitutional organs with citizens' delegations run alongside.
